ATPE-Tecnova is part of the results of the project carried out with the team of UV-C light
September 22, 2011
The project in question has allowed that ATPE-Tecnova, in narrow collaboration with Ingro Machinery, have developed a team to realise/realize treatments of disinfection by means of the application of ultraviolet light, on products hortofrutícolas, so many frescos like mínimamente processed. The results showed in this congress, reflected the effects of the radiation UV-C on the microbiological quality and poscosecha of eggplants harvested in the province of Almería, to finals of May. Part of the production of this hortaliza, exports to other European countries, being his quality, in the moment of the excellent expedition. However, in a lot of moments, after some days of commercialisation/commercialization, the incidence of rots is important, what translates in an economic loss of calado.
The results obtained, after the application of this technology, gave place to a significant inhibition of the development of funguses filamentosos, especially of botrytis cinerea, as well as a reduction of the microbial load. On the other hand, the quality postcosecha also saw favoured/favored by said technical, what translated in important reductions of the losses of weight of the product during the commercialisation/commercialization, as well as an optimum maintenance of the firmness.
In definite, these results show that this technology applied in the sector of the fruits and hortalizas, can be of big interest for the industry agroalimentaria, when reducing economic losses caused by the development of rots and, keep the quality of the product.
