The CTAER opens its laboratories of biomass
July 13, 2011
Antonio Avila, Minister of economy, innovation and science of Andalusia, visited yesterday, July 12 in the area of the CTAER biomass facilities located in the scientific-technological park of oil and the olive grove (GEOLIT), in the town of Jaen Mengíbar, to experience firsthand the research activities developed by the advanced technology center of renewable energies in that area of the energy system.
The Act, considered as official headquarters inauguration, passed with a visit in which the hand of the Chairman of CTAER, Valerian Ruiz and those responsible for the area of biomass, doctors Jose a. Pérez and Manuel Díaz, both the counselor as other attendees personalities, received detailed information and saw in-situ the CTAER activities on energy from biomass.
Facilities, they could observe laboratories for physicochemical characterization of biomass or the Bank's essay of up to 50 kW including biomass boilers, and also they were informed of other projects underway as a multifunctional development of SAT-4 collection machine, to improve the current one, in collaboration with the society Andalusian of valorization of biomass (SAVB) for collection of the remains of the olive pruning, the use of the remains of crops of rice or optimization methodologies for characterization of solid biofuels from the olive grove industrial energy.
According to Valerian Ruiz, "biomass of olive groves and other forms of energy from biomass is an essential element in the development of a new energy system with less pollution and making us more independent of foreign energy resources." "If we are able to take advantage of them in hybridization with other renewable energy form very abundant in Andalusia, the direct solar radiation", also stressed the importance of "already have experimental facilities of high standard as the inaugurated in which already are analyzing samples of biomass of Andalusia at the request of 20 companies" the counselor.
For Antonio Avila "the Government of Andalusia make a bet objective and clear to boost the research activity (...)" "on future sectors such as renewable energy sources related to the sustainability of the production model" and highlighted the activity in the GEOLIT both the CTAER and other technology centers in the same.
Attendees to the visit of the facilities included Francisco Triguero, owner of the General Secretariat for universities, research and technology, the President of the Diputación de Jaén, Francisco Reyes, President of the Government's delegate in Jaén, Felipe Lopez and the GEOLIT and the representatives of the technology centres of the province of Jaén, Innovarcilla, Andaltec, Cetemet and Citoliva.
