In this sense Aguilar stressed that "green job creation, the development of the rural populations, the structuring of the territory and the quality of life of citizens should be key issues at the global and integral vision of wooded areas".
The Minister also had words for the Proceso ' Forest Europe', initialize in 1990. Since 2003, more than a quarter of the signatories of this text have advocated new laws related to forests, as they explain responsible of the MARM.
This has positively meant that 98% of European forests (i.e. 25% of the world's forests) are under some sort of business plan.
The meeting in Oslo was also conducive to display the results of the study 'Forests in Europe 2011', which argues that Europe has had a sustained growth in its forested areas in annual 800,000 hectares of surface during the past twenty years.
In this regard, the Spanish delegation in Norway highlighted the ministerial decision to cover important areas by 2020 in the sense of planning, mobilization of synergies with other conventions and the fight against illegal logging, forest products, environmental services.
