John Deere delivers the first mincer of forage with technology 'i' in Portugal
August 30, 2010
This 'i' smart feed grinder incorporates technology solutions such as the automatic transmission ProDrive (40 km/h), which offers greater capacity of traction, control of sliding and easy handling, transmission of chopped IVLoc infinitely adjustable from the cockpit, or AutoLoc systemwhich automatically regulates the length of court depending on the content in dry matter of the material.
The AutoLoc system receives the signal of the humidity sensor HarvestLab which is located in the discharge tube, and that is capable of analyzing the moisture content of the material in place. With this measure the machine calculate present in forage dry matter and automatically regulates the cutting length of forage depending on this, reaching levels until now unimaginable in terms of quality of silage. In addition, the unit HarvestLab can act as portable analysis laboratory, and can measure the amount of matter dry material silage at any point in the process.
