Almost a thousand people visit IV demonstration of agricultural machinery of Asmava, which extends format
July 1, 2010
The wet spring of this year slowed down much of the tasks in the Valencian country, as for example, the application of phytosanitary treatments. This was one of the reasons that led to a lower number of visitors to the IV demonstration and exhibition of agricultural machinery organized by the Association of manufacturers of agricultural machinery of the Valencian Community. This has been confirmed by sources of the Organization of this Conference that took place, again, in the facilities of the Instituto Valenciano de Investigaciones Agrarias (ivia) from 10 to 12 June. As new developments of this issue, note the change in format of this event, with a longer duration which means more activities and demonstrations on-site.
Interempresas television summarizes the above demonstration of machinery in this video.
If something has characterised the IV Demonstration and Exhibition of Agricultural Machinery of the Valencian Community has been his new format, of greater length, and in consequence, with a greater number of demonstrations in the field and more hours of exhibition. In this occasion, the days, organised by the Association of manufacturers of Agricultural Machinery of the Valencian Community (Asmava), celebrated of the 10 to 12 June, a day and half more, that in the previous edition. Again, the installations of the Valencian Institute of Agricultural Investigations (IVIA) in Moncada (Valencia) received this event bianual to the that attended a lower number of visitors that in the year 2008. According to Montano Pérez, coordinator of these days, the cuantiosas rains of the past spring delayed the recolección of crops, especially citrus, as well as other agricultural tasks, for example, the application of phytosanitary ware. In opinion of the coordinator, east would be the main reason that would explain a light fall in the influx of public, near to the thousand. In fact, the election of the date for the celebration of this act was “complicated”, in words of Montano Pérez. “These are hard moments, especially for the Valencian community that has seen like the past year, produced several abandonments of small exploitations that had devoted to the crop of citrus fruit. In the zone, as well as the ones of secano, yes have helps and minimum prices established, no sucede the same with the citrus fruit and the horticultural. It is very important to have, for putting an example, the orange ready in the suitable moment, because but many remain in the field. By not speaking of the prices that perceive the agriculturalists and that many pose if it results them profitable follow living of the field”, has recognised. Seen this context, is not of extrañar that the organisation have bet for lengthening these days and rentabilizar to the maximum the presence of the associated. “To the manufacturers, supposes them practically the same cost, by what has won a day more for demonstration and exhibition”.
The general assessment, by part of the committee organiser of these days, went of “satisfaction” since it could fulfil with the whole of the planned programming, in spite of the strong and continued rains that had flooded the fields of essay during the previous days. The IV Demonstration of Agricultural Machinery explained, for his set up, with the already mentioned Asmava, the Valencian Institute of Agricultural Investigations (IVIA), the
Two days of demonstrations in the field
In the morning, field demonstrations took place during two of the three days of duration. On the ground, were the latest in equipment of pruning (short hydraulic hedges, scissors and Pruning Saws electric); phytosanitary treatments; crushed (of pruning and firewood) and preparation of the soil. Between the machinery that could be seen in action, include teams as the Tornado Duplex atomizer, Balbastre and SanJaime, awarded as a technical novelty in the 2010 edition of Fima, in Zaragoza. In total, 19 teams from different companies were exhibited: machinery agricultural boom, Cabedo Vila-Real, Pellenc Ibérica, Hervas machinery, Sanz brothers, Balbastre and SanJaime, Mañez and Lozano, agricultural G.B.V, sprayers Fede, Enguix and Cavabé industries.
For its part, the Polytechnic University of Valencia showed his prototype Fluxprocitrus, within the framework of the Optidosa project which aims to reduce the amount of plant protection product to be applied on large surfaces. "This is a reduction in costs because we use less amount of product." To do this, prevents the nozzles at the top to apply product where there is no tree or if this is small. "Also, reduce the dosage depending on the size of the plant," argued Enrique Ortiz, Associate Professor of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. The Fluxprocitrus is a research project, pending a possible marketing. The machine incorporates, in the opinion of Enrique Ortiz, a modification of the hydraulic system. "Is equipped with three sensors to detect the distance at which the vegetation and based on that measured the average distance, depending on whether the tree is big or small." "Thus, decide if the maximum flow is pulled into the mouthpiece or not", clarified.
In addition to demonstrations on fields of testing, in the exhibition area of 5,000 square meters, it could be seen working a prototype platform for assistance to the harvesting of fruit with gauge incorporated, developed by the Ivia Agroingeniería Centre and a few mobile calibratorsfor citrus fruits and tomatoes, to work in the field of the Valsic company. In total, could be seen in exhibition fifty of agricultural machinery, from 14 exhibitors and five invited firms, commonly used in the Valencian Community: from pedestrian-controlled tractors tractors, passing through equipment for the preparation of the pitch, fertilization, pruning and crushedcollection and transportation and equipment for greenhouses, to name a few.
The official, planned opening in a principle for the morning of June 10, was finally held in the afternoon and had the presence of the Minister of agriculture, fisheries and food of the Valencian Community, Maritina Hernández Miñana. During the opening of the IV demonstration of agricultural machinery of Asmava, Hernández made reference to research and innovation in the agricultural mechanization to improve yields in the field. For the Minister of agriculture, fisheries and regional food transfer of technology processes, i.e. agricultural machinery in this case, is vital to a more competitive agricultural sector. Other personalities were also present at the opening of this event, such as: the director of the Valencian Institute for agricultural research (IVIA), Florentino Juste, Fernando Hernández, Manager of the Agroalimed Foundation and representatives of some agricultural unions, for example, Cristobal Aguado in the Valencian farmers Association (AVA), Rafael Cervera, Secretary general of UPA and Josep bottle, Secretary general of the Union of Llauradors i Ramaders.

Of energy crops to the reduced use of plant protection, based on the theme of the technical talks
Also, the programme of this Conference included a series of technical talks that were held throughout the afternoon of June 11. The meeting began with the presentation "Energy crops in the region of Valencia", carried out by Dr. Patricia Chueca, of the Agroalimed Foundation. As energy crops, the rapporteur made reference to all those that occur to be subsequently transformed into biofuel, whether solid, liquid or gaseous. For example, sugary (cereals, beet, sugar cane, sorghum, etc.) for the production of bioethanol, oleaginous (sunflower, thistle, rapeseed, etc.) that is extracted oil that is produced biodiesel and, finally, the ninocelulósicos (herbaceous and woody), mainly with regard to wood biomassto generate heat or electricity, the latter after a process of gasification. During his speech, Patricia Chueca said that the project of the Agroalimed Foundation aims to determine which is the production of this type of crop yield in the different regions of the Valencian Community, characterizing the biomass to meet energy chemical properties and analyze the chemical and environmental balance. The 'Mechanized harvesting of citrus' talk, conducted by Dr. Henry Moltó, Coordinator of the Centre of Agroingeniería of the IVIA, who explained that the project was intended to give an overall view and not be limited to providing solutions that help reduce the costs of the mechanized collection of these crops then took place.
With the title of ' project Optidosa: reduction of the use of plant protection products in tree crops ' held another Conference of interest, carried out by doctor Luis Val, Professor of the University of the unity of mechanization and agrarian technology of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. A project which involves three institutions, in addition to the UPV in a coordinated manner: the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya where working on treatments for vineyards, the University of Lleida is working on topics related to fruit trees, the IVIA a specialized team studying general issues of pollution and the product is actually deposited on the tree and that It ranges between 20 and 30%, and finally the UPV, where citrus distribution techniques are investigated. In particular, from the UPV trying to fund energy consumption and bowel movements that are available in reference to the fan's air, one of the least covered components. In the framework of the Optidosa project, the Valencian University has also worked in a spreadsheet program to facilitate the choice of the dose in each specific case of treatment in citrus. During his speech, Professor also unveiled the prototype Fluxprocity, present at the morning shows, and whose special feature is the implement of phytosanitary doses proportional to the size of the tree. Subsequently, the talk was held ' official register of agricultural machinery (Rome). Main news ', by Lucia Mir García, head of the Rome (Valencia). The meeting ended with two papers carried out by two manufacturers. On the one hand Josep Maria Ventura, director of marketing for Antonio Carraro spoke about the new system of traction Match-4 in the series of tractors Ergit of the firm; on the other hand Rafael Villanueva, head of marketing of special crops of New Holland, was the rapporteur for the talk 'Economic benefits of handling mechanized with New Holland tractors'.
