The agrarian organizations call on the Government a "decisive impulse" to the negotiations on the agricultural crisis
April 30, 2010
After the meeting of the 29th of December, the President of the Government instructed the Minister of environment and Rural and marine environment, Elena Espinosa, that it coordinate jointly with other ministries and the sector itself various tables to identify actions that could solve the existing problems. Of all these desks, have come up a lot of initiatives and proposals made by our representatives and by the Administration itself, but to date they have only materialized in the Ministerial order of financing and the signing of agreements with the IcoSaeca and the associations of banks and savings banks.
After analyzing the various meetings with representatives of the Marm, the Ministry of industry and Commerce and the Ministry of economy and finance, Asaja, Coag, Upa and cooperatives Agro-alimentarias considered that the results are "clearly inadequate", as a result of a "lack of political will in the negotiation" of some basic items. There are still many open issues and some of the measures proposed, according to organizations is very possible that this year given the seasonal nature of agricultural production may not be the practice.
In addition, since the month of December, far from recovering the prices and the market in the main agricultural products and agri-food, the situation has not rather than deteriorate, largely as a result of the price war that has launched the mass distribution in our country and that we are paying the producers.
