'ecovino' Awards promote organic wines and urge the responsible of this beverage onsumo

The first edition of the awards 'Ecovino' not only will promote wines from organic farming, they urge the responsible consumption. This has been confirmed the representative of the Guild of the wine of Rioja, Javier Gracia, the Member of the jury and investigator of the UR, Antonio Palacios and the permanent culture Coordinator Crespo Iñigo. This call is composed of three activities: a concurso-cata blind with jury, a popular wine tasting and a University day of organic wine. The deadline for submission of samples of wines participating ends on 21 may, while the technical tasting will be held June 3 at the center of interpretation of the wine of the Rioja. To this end, a series of awards are envisaged: the Ecovino of gold, silver or bronze, and the great Ecovino of gold. By categories, subcategories and groups are established as follows: fermented white wine not aged in wood and fermented and/or aged in wood; Pink, needle and sparkling in a single category and red wine with two subcategories of not aging or if in wood. These awards will take place on 5 June, within the framework of the world day of the environment, on the spur logroñés. During the event will take place a tasting of the seven shortlisted organic growers and two ecological skewers. Other activities will be of the ecological wine University day, on 28 may, in the aula Magna of the scientific complex of the University of La Rioja. The meeting will feature four informative lectures on scientific research related to the viticulture ecological, biological pest control or the use of autochthonous yeast in alcoholic fermentation.
