The opinion of the exhibitors
"Second hand machinery industry is a stabilising factor in the dramatic context of an economy in the process of contraction", he analyses the situation Jens Nagel, director of the Association national of the trade of export of Germany (BDEx), based in Berlin. "While other sectors are collapsing, the demand for products of second hand continues its normal pace". According to Nagel, Resale 2009 has been a fair very lively, judging as seen in the exhibition halls. "There has been a significant demand for information, particularly about alternative funding possibilities," says Nagel on the fact that the flow of cash because of the difficulties in financing by banks has been restricted.
At the heart of the European machinery Traders Association (EAMTM) you could see satisfied faces. "Our exhibitors members have told me that their results at the fair have exceeded even their expectations," explains André Skenazi, Secretary general of the EAMTM...
Other exhibiting companies, as the supplier of machinery for the treatment of Egid Münch wood, were exultant. "In 2010 will return to participate in Resale," is the Manager, Arnulf Vath.
Not only the German exhibitors reaped good results. Many foreign exhibitors were equally satisfied about the course of the fair. "The booth was always full," summarizes the supplier of machinery for treating wood Patrick Kazi-Tani, of France.
A great African delegation visited Resale already the first day of fair. He moved to Germany on the initiative of the Association of Africa. Item this same continent is also a frequent visitor to the fair for many years, Babacar Diop Senegalese businessman. This time it brought with it some government officials who reported extensively on the investment opportunities in different sectors. Second hand machines are clearly on the rise in Africa, something that should be explained also for financial reasons: many of the banks of Senegal are subsidiaries of shaky international entities, which complicates much funding. For this reason, both public and private entities opt increasingly more sharply for second hand products, since they can be purchased with own capital. In Africa it is registering a sharp increase in the demand for electromedical equipment of a few years ago, and especially the private sector is increasingly active. "Europe speaks of machines and appliances used or second hand" compare Babacar Diop, "but for us they are new technologies."
Far-reaching international
The foreign country that provided a greater number of visitors was Iran with 698 buyers, followed by Russia, India and Belarus. International visitors, Ukraine reached the fifth position (last year was the first). The posts from 6 to 10 were for Iraq, Uganda, Egypt, Italy and Ecuador, respectively. There were significant increases in the presence of Kosovo, China, Syria, Algeria and Uzbekistan. To a large extent, the interests of the visitors were covered by exhibited products. Resale presented machines in 23 areas of supply for all sectors. Machines for the metal work returned to form the larger segment, followed by plastics and rubber processing machines. "There was also an important representation of technology of propulsion and transport, construction machinery, packaging and machines for the food and industrial vehicles sector," explained the organizing of Resale Florian Hess. "The same thing happened with the textile machinery and for the treatment of the wood", continues the CEO of Hess GmbH, Weingarten/Baden, "the machines and facilities in the field of the elimination and recycling of waste".
In 2010, again after the start of the Hannover Fair
The next year, the fair Resale will once again be held at the Fairgrounds in Karlsruhe from Wednesday 21 to Friday 23 April 2010. Thus, Resale will be inaugurated again two days after the beginning of the greatest industrial display of Germany, the fair of Hannover.
