The Foundation Codiagro considers the possibility to realise future editions with the intention to arrive to situate like a technical event of reference in the Latin American agriculture

Organised and sponsored by the Foundation Codiagro the days 9 and 10 May took place in the city of Santa Cruz, in Chile, the I International Symposium on new technicians in the Latin American agriculture The success of participation was rotundo, so much by the massive influx, as by the high technical level so much of the lecturers as of the invited.

The follow-up of the event in the network was very important since it was broadcast on-line by the channel www.canalfundacioncodiagro.com, and the internauts realised queries to the expert speakers by this half.

The assessment that the patronato of the Foundation Codiagro has done of the symposium has been very positive and goes to consider the possibility to realise future editions in the next years with the intention to arrive to situate like a technical event of reference in the Latin American agriculture.

The first of the reports ran to charge of José To. Casaretto, of the University of Talca, Chile. Under the title 'agricultural Biotechnology: investigation and applications', reviewed in his presentation the current knowledge and the handle of the technologies with potential for the mejoramiento genetic of crops. It awarded special emphasis to the use of the agricultural biotechnology to increase the indexes of production, improve the quality of vegetal products and to stabilise the production in terms of resistance or tolerance of the crops to damages caused by plagues and adverse environingingmental conditions.

To continuation, Aurelio Gómez Chains, of the Department of Agricultural Sciences and of the Half Natural of the University Jaume I of Castellón, treated in his report 'Tolerance to the abiotic stress in crops and plant model', in the first place, the general answers of the plants to the conditions of abiotic stress. After exposing the main damages that the high salinity in the floor or in the water of irrigation causes in the vegetal fabrics showed the main mechanisms of answer. In a second part exposed the works of the group of investigation in which it has studied the effect of the stress salino on the physiology of the citrus fruit and have tested possible palliative treatments.

'Physiological bases and handle reproductive in cultivated of citrus' was the report of Alfredo Gravina Telechea, of the Department of Vegetal Production, of the Faculty of Agronomy, University of the Republic (Uruguay). Of Agricultural Sciences and of the Half Natural of the university castellonense Jaume I, centred his report in speaking on the 'Application of new technicians in agriculture: The state hídrico and nutritional of the plant like tools of handle of the crop'. On the one hand, and referring to the adaptation of the Diagnose DRIS in agriculture, specified that the analysis of the nutritional state of the distinct crops has centred always almost exclusively in the utilisation of some only levels of sufficiency, associating levels by on or underneath of the values of reference to descents in vegetative growth, harvest or quality. At present it questions the efficiency of these values of reference like method of analysis of the nutritional state of the plant since the concentrations foliares of the distinct elements will vary with the age of the leaf, the period of the recolección of the sample and other factors like the production of the previous year, the sanitary ware state, etc. Thus, in a second part of the report bet by the use of the potential hídrico for the handle of different crops. “Our work pretends to use the value of the potential hídrico measured from a new technology like value of the state hídrico of the plant and integrating in him all the biotic and abiotic variants that interfere with the crop”, commented.
