Asturforesta opens its doors with a view to Europeans forestry markets
May 16, 2011
That the forestry sector has been affected by the crisis that passes through the construction, is something they recognize from the Organization of Asturforesta, although they also claim to have received more entries than in previous, a little less than a month of its conclusion. Thus, Alejo Miguélez, director of the contest, is prudent in terms of the number of expected visitors and hopes to keep the figure of 190 exhibitors present in the previous call. In particular, Miguélez has also made reference to the possible return of exhibitors who had not been present since did, more or less, two editions. With a budget of slightly less than the of previous editions, nearly 55,000 euros, Asturforesta has the support of various actors in the forestry sector, such as administrations, associations, the Caja de Asturias, the Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Town Hall of Tineo and the Ministry of Rural Environment and fisheries. The previous call, two years ago, closed its doors after the influx of 15,000 European professionals and the presence of 190 participants.
With a view to the Central European market
Regarding the key appearances for the good achievement of this edition, Miguélez reaffirms in the humility, commitment and work to conserve the standards of quality that have positioned it, after seven editions, like the forestry fair of greater recognition of the Iberian Peninsula. Likewise, from Asturforestrya insists in improving the international character of this fair. For this, considers vital the approach to remarkable networks of foreign fairs like the Forestryry Demo Fairs, assisting to several events organised by the own network, and in front of which presented the past month of October his candidature like partner of the same. To attain this purpose would turn into one of the spokesmen of the world-wide leaders in the organisation of forestry meetings with demonstrations of machinery, something that would contribute them a plus of image and recognition of face to the display units present in this Asturian appointment.
In particular, the director of the contest promised a positive response from from exhibitors from Central Europe, with markets, much more stable than the Spanish in his view. These manufacturers come to Asturforesta with news on the one hand, and looking for distributors for southern Europe, on the other. In this regard, the spokesman of the Asturian fair reviews the evolution of the contest, focused years ago in creating a presence in the markets of southern Europe, especially in Portugal and France. As the show grew, grew its impact and roots in Central European markets, where recognized fairs are held as the Kwf, the Metko and especially the Elmia Wood of Sweden. Already in the previous edition, and as they qualifying from the Organization of Asturforesta, it could be noted the presence of important exhibitors from countries such as United States, Canada and New Zealand.
For its part, the subsector of the forest biomass, whose presence WINS integers an edition after others, is still apparent as an alternative in the country, according to the director of Asturforesta. This phenomenon contrasts with what is happening in Central Europe, where there is already a reality. For a few years, various continental machinery manufacturers have burst in Spain, as a new market opportunity and, thereby, have begun to visit trade fairs like Asturforesta, showcase of the reality of the forestry sector.
