Expoliva 2009 is positioned as the most important fair of the sector of olive oil

Expoliva 2009, which already stood at 90% of its total occupation to little more than a month and a half for its conclusion, will increase by 15% the number of international stands over the previous year, as a result of the great interest shown by 30 new foreign companies to participate in the most important fair of the sector of 'liquid gold'. In particular, the countries that will attend the fair are Argentina, United States, Turkey, Italy, France, Portugal, Tunisia, Morocco, Germany, Israel, Colombia and China.
The market of cosmetics, present in Expoliva
Expoliva opened for the first time to the market of cosmetics, health and nutrition and sustainable development, in order to diversify the most sectors that make up the market in olive oil, since the preparation of cosmetic products from olive oil is experiencing significant growth in recent years years, motivated by being a market in full expansion and by a wide margin of growth process.
In this sense, Expoliva, expected to exceed more than 40,000 professionals who in the previous edition visited the fair, will feature in this Edition with two new spaces called 'Bazaar of cosmetics' and the 'health classroom', in order to make known these sectors of weight.
The scientific symposium and the Hall of the olive oil will complement the fair
As in previous editions, will take place the technical scientific symposium which, organized by the Fundación del Olivar, will host the latest developments and research in the olive and olive oil sector. This symposium is structured around four major themes: Forum del Olivar y el Medio Ambiente; Forum of the olive technology and quality; Economic and Social Forum and health forum and the olive oil.
Also, given the need to promote the exhibition and promotion of the Virgin olive oil extra, whose marketing is reaching significant growth rates, will be enabled one year more the lounge of the olive oil, which will host more than 130 olive oil extra virginpreviously selected, coming from all over the world. During the development of the Hall, the visitor can experience the sensation of an expert taster and express their sensory perceptions on different tasted oils. Hall Expoliva Virgin Extra II will have an area for meetings between producers and traders, and also will take place the 1st International Congress of sensory analysis that aims to show and characterize the complex world of scent, taste and touch sensations with the juice of the olivewhich varies according to climate and soil diversity, varieties of olives and the production processes.
Finally, the 14th edition of Expoliva will focus on increasing the international projection, for it to be organized missions trade inverse, in collaboration with the Provincial Diputación de Jaén, the Chamber of Commerce of Jaén and Extenda, which will include the visit of foreign importing companies and distributors of olive oil in non-producing countries, with the aim of encouraging the export of the production and marketing companies.
Increase participation in the 'quality of oil' award Expoliva
The number of samples of olive oil presented the prize to the 'quality of the olive oil Virgin Extra', that organizes Expoliva, has amounted to a total of 83, an increase of 34% compared to the 2007 Edition.
It is a very significant increase, if we take into account weather conditions affecting the campaign 2008 / 2009, and that forced farmers to delay the collection of olives nearly a month later. The total number of samples presented in the 14th edition belong to the major producing provinces of Spain, being Jaén province with highest percentage of participation in this 14th edition.

The prize, whose deadline for the submission of samples has been already completed, awarded to holders of the cooperatives and industrial Mills presenting the best sample of extra virgin olive oil, as far as quality is concerned.
